Comic Stephen K Amos makes Barnard Castle the only North East stop on his new tour.
Fresh from a worldwide tour and another hit Edinburgh Fringe run, the maestro of feel-good comedy will bring new show The Laughter Master to The Witham Arts Centre on Saturday 12 December.
Filled with a child-like exuberance and a knack for finding the funny in the most unexpected places, Amos has been charming audiences all over the world with his natural, assured delivery and affectionate audience interaction for years.
With appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe every year since 2003, and a multitude of television credits, Amos has become one of those beloved and recognisable comics in the country. As well as writing and starring in his eponymous BBC programme The Stephen K Amos Show, he has also appeared on Celebrity Great British Bake Off, Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, Have I Got News for You, The Royal Variety Show and Dave’s
One Night Stand.
Amos has won numerous awards for his work on stage and on screen, with numerous international awards to his name, as well as a BAFTA nomination, and - if any more proof of his sparkling audience interaction skills were needed - three nods for Chortle's Best Compere award.
Peter Dixon, of promoters Funny Way To Be, said: "I first encountered Stephen K Amos putting his warmth and genial nature to good use as a chat show host at a festival. Since then I've seen several of the stand-up shows that have earned him accolades all over the world.
"We are especially pleased that Stephen has chosen Funny Way To Be Comedy as the North East venue on his current national tour."
Tickets are £17 and are available now
